This whale I just finished, and a bunch more of my artwork, will be up at The Magic Hat Artifactory this summer (July through September), so stop by and check it out! They'll give you free beer. The good kind even!

Hey look! I finished something else!

I only had about a week left before I would either have to stop calling myself a painter or actually paint something. So, out of fear that I would have to start answering the question of "What do you do?" with    "Talk about cats and creep on the Facebook pages of strangers", I squeezed out this bear.

Even though this buys me a few more weeks, I think my hibernation is over. For real this time.

It's been months... but I finally finished something! I can't believe it either.

You can see these  four little paintings this Friday at The S.P.A.C.E Gallery's Small Works show.

Burton officially debuted it's 2012 gear this weekend which means now I can show you these!! I did the graphics for the Chicklet boards (one of their kid's lines) and I'm really psyched about how they turned out. I like to think this is what it would look like if Lisa Frank and I had an illegitimate art baby (Lisa, I'm keeping it but I don't expect anything from you).

You can get a closer look here and I'll post some more pictures when I get my boards!

Lately I've been making earrings like it's my mental illness. See more here.

I just hung a bunch of paintings and prints at August First so if you're in the Queen City this month go check 'em out. Also, if you stumble across Split Rail Magazine (I'm told they'll be all over Vermont) pick one up and read four pages of me talking about myself (there's other artists to read about too). While you're doing that, I'll be doing all sorts of amazing things! (Painting my toe nails and patiently awaiting Project Runway Season 9)

Here's a two-fer in case you think I spent all of May lazing around painting lamps and throwing solitary ice cream parties. Technically you'd be right, but not only did I participate in the food chain (ice cream is on the very bottom with Cheetos and algae) but I created these family friendly depictions of it as well. I'm 101% positive this qualifies me to teach any life science to 8th graders. That's going to look nice on my resume. See, no slacking here!

Generally, things cannot be purchased as awesome as I want them to be. However... I have awesome to spare! At least for inanimate objects. It's so satisfying to turn something worn out and ugly into something beautiful; and the cheaper the better.  I bought this original Lytegem lamp at the Salvation Army for 3 bucks and the fan I found in my basement. Both work, although the fan seems like it would do a better job of sparking an electrical fire than of cooling me down. Good thing that's not what really matters.

I'm quite proud of this one. Hot pink makes me happy.

Photography is hard. But awkward is way more endearing than perfection.
