My contribution to the third installment of the Mail Me Art Project was sent off into the big scary world today. Generally when shipping artwork I pack it up like it's about to be delivered via cannon blast, so sending it out without so much as a pocket knife to protect itself, has me a little nervous. But that's part of what makes the Mail Me Art Project so awesome, it's not all wrapped up and hidden away looking like every other boring envelope at the post office, it's shared with as many people as possible on it's journey. I also like MMA because it makes me nostalgic for my teenage years when I actually sent mail on a fairly regular basis and usually with my own artistic flair added to the outside. But now it's more about showing off artwork rather than embarrassing the recipient with ridiculous (and occasionally) obscene packaging.  But that's not to say it won't ever happen again...

Tried my hand at painting leather this holiday season and I'm pretty pleased with the results, as is my beloved, who is now rocking out with his new, one of a kind, hand painted, octopus guitar strap.

I added this adorable little guy to the cryptozology group, and now I'm thinking there should have been some blood in the piece...too late though, the three of them are off to The S.P.A.C.E. Gallery for the annual Small Works show opening this Friday.

I've been a little sidetracked by Halloween but I've managed to finish two little paintings in my cryptozoology series.
More to come!

Hey look! I'm painting!
Stay tuned for my cryptozoology series....

For everyone that's ever asked me how I make my jewelry, here you go!
Shrink! Shrank! Shrunk! from Lark Crafts is available now on NOOK and in bookstores (pre order!) this October.
I spill all my secrets and show you how to make that awesome blue flower necklace on the cover. So stop bugging me and go get the dang book! :)

This whale I just finished, and a bunch more of my artwork, will be up at The Magic Hat Artifactory this summer (July through September), so stop by and check it out! They'll give you free beer. The good kind even!

Hey look! I finished something else!

I only had about a week left before I would either have to stop calling myself a painter or actually paint something. So, out of fear that I would have to start answering the question of "What do you do?" with    "Talk about cats and creep on the Facebook pages of strangers", I squeezed out this bear.

Even though this buys me a few more weeks, I think my hibernation is over. For real this time.

It's been months... but I finally finished something! I can't believe it either.

You can see these  four little paintings this Friday at The S.P.A.C.E Gallery's Small Works show.

Burton officially debuted it's 2012 gear this weekend which means now I can show you these!! I did the graphics for the Chicklet boards (one of their kid's lines) and I'm really psyched about how they turned out. I like to think this is what it would look like if Lisa Frank and I had an illegitimate art baby (Lisa, I'm keeping it but I don't expect anything from you).

You can get a closer look here and I'll post some more pictures when I get my boards!
