This guy is currently living at The S.P.A.C.E Gallery for the Art of Networking show, up until July 17th.
I missed the opening and the entire point of "networking". Sad face.
I ordered a brand new roll of canvas a few weeks ago and opted not to upgrade the shipping from FedEx SmartPost to UPS ground. I did this because I'd never heard of SmartPost and assumed that there couldn't be a huge difference since the upgrade was only a couple bucks more. Not too surprisingly, I was wrong.
SmartPost, I believe, is when FedEx accepts a package for delivery, gives it room and board for a few days and then kicks it out into the world to fend for itself. It's forced to find it's own way to it's new home. Panhandling for bus tickets, hitchhiking, or freight hopping like a Great Depression era hobo. Any day now(God willing) I'll be getting a teary phone call from my new canvas telling me to come get it at some seedy truck stop.
Until then, however, I have to continue on with my life. I'm trying to use up the scraps of what's left from the last roll of canvas. But my heart is set on bigger and better things so I'm just kind of scribbling on these little guys. I finished this one today. I think I'm gonna call it "Permanent Displacement".
This past Saturday I hung a bunch of art up on the wall of August First, a super tasty bakery/cafe in Burlington VT.
The place was packed for a live band when I showed up but nobody seemed to mind me being in their way. Even when I hauled out the ladder and dangled paintings over their heads.
The show's up through June so go grab some lunch and check it out!
I don't know "blog rules" but it seems to me that you should have a relatively established blog before you just start lazily linking to other ones that mention you. Shwhateva. Today I'm gonna let Mandy Crandell at SOMETHING MONUMENTAL do the work. I'll call it efficiency.
