I am, at best, an amateur amateur photographer. But it wasn't long ago that I would have been better described as a "person frightened and confused by cameras". Just holding a camera would turn me into a caveman. However, this summer when I needed a creative outlet that didn't take up much space or require tons of supplies, I gave photography a chance. With the aid of a decent camera, it was actually a lot of fun. Who knew. What came out of it is a series of photos entitled "This World", a combination of scale miniature figures and the tiny otherworldly organisms growing on just about every tree stump in Vermont.
I'm really excited to be sending them off to The S.P.A.C.E. Gallery's annual "Small Works" show this Friday (Dec.6) for their real world debut. Check it out if you're in town. It's a super fun show with tons of great art.
I'll have more online after the show opens.
